Antique Burr Elm Kidney Shape Side / Writing Table
About the Item
A quite unusual and beautiful antique burr elm kidney shape side / writing table. This was made in England, it dates from the 1920-30’s.
It is of superb quality, the kidney shaped top has a single drawer and stands on fluted tapered legs with cross framed stretcher supports. There is lovely carving on the upper legs, the burr elm grain patterns and colour tones are spectacular. This is nicely finished on all sides, so can be used as a free standing item. It is a perfect size for an occasional side table or even a small writing table / desk.
We have had this recently re-polished, the condition is excellent for its age.
