Antique English Carlton House Desk with Marquetry & Brass Accents

About the Item

This Carlton House desk or writing table is unsigned, but presumed to have been made in England in approximately 1920 in a Georgian style. The desk is done in a veneer with nicely executed classical urn and blue bell marquetry panels on either side and on the cubby hole door in the center. The seventeen drawers all have hand crafted dove tailed corners with brass knobs and the front three drawers are nicely accented with blue bell garland and parquetry borders. The legs have brass caps and castors and the top has a solid brass gallery. The locks appear intact, but the keys have been lost.
