Antique French Louis XV Stripped Desk ~ Bureau Plat

About the Item

Antique French Louis XV Stripped Desk ~ Bureau Plat is a superb choice for those wanting a classic look yet one that is restrained in coloration to blend with more modern tastes. The solid oak top of this desk ensures decades of daily use ahead, with all four aprons subtly scrolled and carved to varying degrees. The sides the the most tailored with molding following the contour of the apron and florals on each side. The "front" of the desk expands upon that theme and includes a basket of flowers at the center for a special touch. The "back" of the desk sports three drawers, each with trim similar to the sides but fitted with finely cast and figured brass key guards. Four elegantly scrolled cabriole legs provide support, each carved with scrollwork, fish scale and cloven hoof feet. Painstakingly stripped using our proprietary process that retains the patina and sheer natural beauty of the old wood, all performed by our expert in-house staff. Circa early 1900s Measures 30H x 47W x 31D; knee clearance 24H
