Antique French Louis XVI Neoclassical Double Faced Desk

About the Item

Antique French Louis XVI Neoclassical Double Faced desk has captured the essence of the architecture and embellishment of ancient Greece and Rome! Hand-crafted from solid oak, it has been fully finished on all sides, even the interior space between the cabinets, for placement anywhere in the room. Only the "business" side of the desk has been adorned with cast brass bale pulls and key guards which allow one access to the three spacious drawers and two large cabinets, the right handed one of which opens to reveal three interior drawers! The "front" side of the desk still boasts the four rosettes across the upper tier where the drawers appear on the opposite side, as well as two raised oval panels where the cabinet doors appear on the opposite side, adorned with beading and louvers and framed with fluted pilasters fitted with rosettes. Bold base molding wraps both cabinets with a total of eight bun feet for support. On top, our expert in-house staff has installed new faux leather to provide you with decades of daily use and enjoyment. Circa early 1900s Measures 31H x 59W x 39D; knee clearance 24.5H.
