About the Item

This is a brand new, heirloom quality desk on legs. Its heritage began recently when it was carefully handcrafted using only the finest hand techniques. From their selection of fine mahogany wood and gorgeous brown leather to the hand cut dovetails, all aspects of this writing desk are of the highest quality. One of the more obvious traits of this piece is the fine brown leather top. Leather is a traditional and durable desk surface. Whether used for writing or with a computer it will wear nicely throughout the years and will last for a long time. To go with the distressed wood, the brown leather has been aged giving the desk antique-like character. Mahogany has an intricate grain and looks really nice when stained the medium brown color you see here. The wood is finished by hand, using a time honored technique passed down for generations. Using iron and stone to make marks in the wood provides character unique to each piece. The four legs are nicely turned legs that would have been prevalent during the Georgian period. It is a simpler look but has an elegance to it. This style combines nicely with almost all other styles out there. A brass ferrule caps each leg. For function there are five drawers for storage. A pullout / pull-out writing slide sits above the left and right drawers. Also, a pullout / pull-out slide sits on the client side of the desk. Each drawer is fitted with solid brass handles. These are a plate back style that again are from the Georgian period. The height from the floor to the bottom of the desk is 24.75. The width of the knee area measures 23.
