Fabio Lenci flexible vanity unit / desk with matching chair
Walnut and leather, flexible ladies dressing or writing table with matching chair designed by FABIO LENCI (1935- ) for Bernini ,Italy , 1980. Signed with original Bernini tag to inside of compartment and underside of chair.
Fabio Lenci’s 22 series was initially designed in 1969 but it was not until 1980 that Bernini put the form into production for only three years 1980-83 as confirmed to us by Concette Parone at Bernini . We have also been in contact with Fabio Lenci and he confirmed that this piece was originally designed as a flexible multi use desk which could be used as both a desk or as a ladies vanity/dressing table. This multi-purpose desk features eighteen compartments comprised of drawers, containers and shelving while the leather desk top features three flip-top compartments, one concealing a vanity mirror and ; this example retains the full original complement of six movable drawer units.
