French Empire Style Mahogany Bureau Plat
About the Item
An early 20th century French Empire style bureau plat, or executive desk, with five dovetailed drawers and pull-out side extensions. Bookmatched flame mahogany veneer over solid oak. Green leather writing surfaces with gold embossed trim. Brass hardware with working locks and three keys Tapered legs with brass sabots. Finished on all sides so this desk may be free floated in an office or library. Sturdy and well-crafted with large work surface. Minor losses and scratches. Missing escutcheon on the center drawer. Circa 1900-1920.
