ILA (Industria Lombarda Arredamenti) teak and metal desk model Ss34, Italy, 1959

About the Item

A beautiful Italian desk made of teak and metal, produced by ILA (Industria Lombarda Arredi), model "Ss34" from 1959, equipped with ample workspace. ILA was an Italian company that, in the second half of the twentieth century, extensively dedicated itself to aesthetic research applied to the creation of furniture for workspaces. Therefore, this desk, originally designed for the office, showcases careful design and high construction quality. Today, it can be successfully placed in a domestic environment as well, thanks to the quality of materials and the refinement of details. A spacious teak top with a pleasant natural grain rests on a structure that remains light and unobtrusive, combining wood, metal, and brass cone-shaped terminals. The light structure, where the two oblique uprights serve as a pleasant design element, is enhanced by a side-mounted chest of drawers that increases the versatility of the furniture. In the 1959 catalog, the desk is identified by the code "Ss34." Dimensions: 180x80x78h cm. The furniture is offered in excellent conservation condition; original in its parts and professionally restored.
