This handcrafted wood top writing desk hails from England. Recently made there, it possesses charm, character, and an heirloom quality you would expect from a master furniture craftsman. Its size allows this table desk to be a great work space in any room! The maker has used lovely oak for the wood of this library table. Done in a dark brown, color it possesses a visually charming character. Also, the maker uses iron and stone to light distress the desk giving it a unique character. Additionally, the wood top writing desk is hand finished using the time honored finishing techniques of the last two centuries. The seven stage hand polish really gives a deep, lustrous sheen rivaled only by true antique counterparts. Three drawers provide great storage. They extend back quite far utilizing as much space under the desk for storage as possible. Also, each drawer uses dovetail joints on all four corners. This sign of quality craftsmanship shows important insight into the care and quality of the desk’s creation. Each of the four legs features a canted (cut in) section on each corner. This keeps the otherwise square legs from looking too plain. Also, an “H” stretcher joins all four legs for added stability and longevity. The stretcher also serves to add to the charming rustic overall look of the desk. Finally, solid brass swan neck drawer pulls adorn the drawers. They provide a wonderful contrast to the dark wood without being distracting. Also important to note is the finished back. A finished back means the desk can be placed in the center of a room.
