Strafor and Marc Held 1960s-1970s French Wooden and Metal Rare Executive Desk
About the Item
Known for the robustness, quality and industrial style of their furniture, I propose here this rare executive desk by the famous Strafor house. Old for more than 160 years, the house of Strasbourg, which no longer exists today and remains a myth, is first known in the late 19th and early 20th century for the construction of frames and machinery dedicated to the industry. In the 1920s, she became the Forges of Strasbourg and the company specializes in the manufacture of metal furniture brand Strafo (and Strafor after 1926). After the Second World War and the occupation of the company by the Germans, Strafor furniture was quickly renamed and quickly found in offices, workshops, factories. In the 50s Strafor suffered economic difficulties and found a new lease of life in 1974 by joining the Steelcase group of American origin. In 1981, creation of Steelcase Strafor group. The year 1999 will mark the end of the business being 100% acquired by Steelcase Inc. This executive office of the 1960s - 1970s has a double box, all in metal (brushed aluminum metal feet, beige metal structure for the boxes) wooden tray and orange abs front drawers. It's up to you to recreate its history!
