Superb Antique English Inlaid Mahog. Secretaire a' Abbatant or Bonheur du Jour

About the Item

This is a wonderful and rare Antique English small or diminutive Abbatant a' Secretaire or Bonheur du Jour Writing Table and is unique and wonderful. The exterior is exquisitely made from bookmatched flame or crotch mahogany with a wide banding of satinwood. The interior reveals a satinwood fitted interior with ebony stringing. The leathered writing surface has a rare gilt embossed monogram for "GW" (or "WG"). The condition is extremely good but for a bit of lifting of the leather at the front left corner and evidence of some very, very minor structural repair at the convergence of the fall and the desk and is only mentioned for accuracy of condition. The overall dimensions are listed in the appropriate place, but this lovely writing table is only 9" deep at the waist
