"Arthur A1" Extra-Clear Glass Top Rectangular Table by Ron Gilad for Adele-C

About the Item

"Arthur A1" is a rectangular dining table, designed by Ron Gilad and manufactured by Adele-C, with an extra-clear tempered glass 0.86" th. top, supported by two crisscrossed semi-oval bases in open pore black painted ash wood. Available in two lengths (62.9" and 70.8" wide). Indoor use only. DIMENSIONS: D. 35.4", W. 70.8", H. 28.3" Ron Gilad said about "Arthur A1": "Inspired by King Arthur's legend, pureness of lines and rigorous choice of materials and colors seem to express all the ruler's complexity and rectitude” Ron Gilad designed Arthur, a collection of new tables, for Adele-C. All the tables have black painted ash wood bases and extra-clear tempered glass tops. Ron Gilad challenged his surrealist talent which finds renewed substantiation in these tables inspired, as The Round Table collection, by King Arthur’s legend. But with Arthur the designer shifts his focus from the round table of the knights to the immortal English King. The design formed by the lines, the chosen colors and the glass all seem to evoke the monarch’s mythical qualities such as loyalty, equity and uprightness. RON GILAD (Tel Aviv 1972) is an Israeli-born designer who aims to disorder the boarders between functionality and abstraction. His hybrid creations combine minimalism and humour, defy reason and are yet absolutely practical, showing his talent in using materials with an aesthetic play. His works deal with the relationship between the object and its function, questioning our perceptions. He accentuates perspective with his sculptural shapes and graphic lines that tend to infinity an play with the environmental space. In Italy he works with companies such as Flos, Adele-C, De-Castelli, Dilmos, Salvatori, Nodus and Molteni&C. His works appear in solo exhibitions, such as the one in Tel Aviv Museum of Art, and in numerous collective exhibitions. They are part of the Israeli public collections and abroad such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Metropolitan Museum in New York. In 2013 he received the Wallpaper Design Award (Designer of the Year; Best Domestic Design) and Elle Décor International Design Award (Designer of the Year; Furniture Design). ADELE-C collection, including and extending the legacy of the well-known Cassina brand, consists of pieces of design indifferent to passing fads and ready to show new paths for interior design. Adele-C collection is typically ready to naturally adapt to any space, as its sobriety in style and quality of materials are simply perfect to enrich any room in a refined way.
