Balma Dining Table Coastal Travertine Marble MidCentury Original Limited Edition The Balma table in coastal travertine marble is a unique original piece from the 1980s. The table was produced in limited editions, as it is a special model because of its coastal travertine stone. This coastal travertine maintains the roughness of the stone extracted by quarry blasting. The old methods of extraction of travertine marble were carried out by explosion, resulting in few stones with the roughness of the space through which the marble block was extracted by explosion. Nowadays the modern methods of explosion with diamond wire do not allow the stone to break by itself, so there are no longer any of the original coastal terminations of these ancient forms of extraction of the stone in the quarry. Joaquín Moll, as someone with a passion for stone, has always opted to add value with these forms of coastal stone through special designs in limited edition collections such as this Balma dining table. The table is an original piece of the time and limited editions were made for sale in Madrid. In this case, the Balma table for sale here was in stock so it has never left the warehouse, which makes this piece a relic of the 80's original and brand new. Balma's design is an example of Joaquín Moll's perfect mastery in bringing his vision of the natural stone material to the world of design. The table is structured in two vertical pieces that form an imaginary puzzle. One piece with a concave curve and the next with a convex curve play with space and above all with the raw material.
