Contemporary Ligna black desk by Armand & Francine
About the Item
Starting from a base of plywood, layers of Mortex© are added to create the table. Mortex© is a decorative technique based on lime, acrylic and pigment. This technique is added manually which gives an imperfectly perfect result and gives each table a unique appearance with color nuances, imperfections and small irregularities. These form the character of the product and the technique. The appearance of the furniture is partly determined by the degree of polishing and the final finishing layer. Each piece of furniture or object is completely unique and handmade in our own workshop. Matt finish by means of a water-based PU lacquer. The colors are manually composed of natural pigments.
Only for indoor use.
Material: Ply wood, Mortex© (decorative technique based on lime and pigment)
Armand & Francine (A&F) is a creative duo comprised of Gert Hellebaut and Cathy Poppe, based in Ghent, Belgium. Driven by a desire for creative freedom, they embarked on a journey as self-taught designers which led them to establish their studio where they handcraft solid, unique furniture and objects for interiors. A&F combine traditional craftsmanship with organic and flowing lines, reflecting their love for textures, materials, asymmetry, and imperfect beauty. Cathy's creative instincts and Gert's technical skills complement each other, resulting in their distinctive and refined designs. A&F believes that furniture should not only be visually appealing but also serve as functional and emotional objects that can be cherished for generations. The design process of A&F involves experimentation and refinement, always researching new techniques, structures and materials. Armand & Francine believe in a local approach and prioritize quality and craftmanship, personally handling every aspect of the production process in favor of maintaining control over the final product.
