Country Italian Massive Size Dining Table Still in its Original Rustic Finish

About the Item

Mammoth antique rustic country Italian dining table in a trestle style and when I use the word antique, associated with Italian antique Italian dining tables, it can be a smidge misleading, for one never really knows the true origin of many supposed antique Italian dining tables. For decades, we could not determine who was better at creating faux antiques, the Italians or the Chinese, for both are true masters of their craft. What I believe we have, is a Rustic Country Italian trestle farm table or trestle dining table, made from very old components. In particular the trestle table columns appear to be from the 1700s and still in their original painted finish, while the top is formed from two massive old planks of lumber and are more likely from the 1800s. Our Old Plank workshop spent over 250 hours of labor completely dismantling the entire antique Italian dining table and rebuilding every component, so structurally it is rock solid. Our workshop performed the entire conservation process, without ever disturbing the original patination of our Country Rustic Italian dining table. Please note, that there is a very slight twist (about 3/8") to the two-board top, but your glass of Cabernet Sauvignon will not spill and if it should, we did coat the table with a dead flat protective sealer. We rarely if ever, get to see a country Italian dining table this massive, with a 3.5” thick top, let alone this rustic, with such an amazing patina.

Repaired: Disassembled, cleaned at the joints and reassembled. We did not refinish the table. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Minor fading. Structurally rock solid and cosmetically left all original. There is as noted in the copy, a very slight twist to the table top of 3/8", but really difficult to see with the naked eye.
