Danish Modern Extendable Dining Table w Two Leaves, c 1970s, Refinished, Signed

About the Item

This beautiful and charming Danish Modern dining table comes with two leaves and can extend from 45 inches to 85 inches. Produced by CFC Silkeborg in Denmark during the 1970s (signed with label underneath the table top), and just professionally refinished - making this classic design piece ready to be placed in your interior design project immediately. This table features two distinct woods, a more exotic wood grain featured in the center of the top (and leaves) with what we believe to be teak and a different wood grain for the edges. The exotic wood grain might be a Walnut or perhaps a different variety of teak. Classic sculptural legs which come together and fan apart when one or two leaves are installed. This expandable dining table would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Post-Modern, Contemporary or Zen / Minimalism room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, Hollywood Regency, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. MEASUREMENTS: (No leaves) H 28" x Diameter 45.25" (One leaf) H 28" x W 65.25" x D 45.25" (Two leaves) H 28" x W 85.25" x D 45.25" CONDITION: Professionally refinished. • 'Butterflies' Dining Table by Piero Fornasetti, circa 1970s Italy, Signed
    By Piero Fornasetti
    Located in Los Angeles, CA
This pièce de résistance collectors item is the 'Farfalle' (translated to 'Butterflies') dining table by Piero Fornasetti, circa 1970s, signed underneath with its original studio label. Table height is a perfect 29.25" for dining but also ideal as a cafe, gaming or center table. Such incredible artistry, this round Fornasetti dining table is made with lithographic transfer and lacquered wood that has a white background with colorful butterfly motif and is affixed via screws to a white tulip styled base. One of my favorite aspects of this table is how some of the butterflies cascade down into the edge of the table giving a 3-dimensional effect. The top has been masterfully re-lacquered in a French Polish and looks so incredible - it looks like a sheet of water is floating above the butterflies because it is so clear, vibrant, glossy and smooth while protecting the artwork underneath for decades to come. The 'Farfalle' aka 'Butterflies' motif is documented in the book "Fornasetti, The Complete Universe". This rare piece is sought after by interior designers and collectors alike. Perfect piece to add a little splash of whimsy and intrigue into your interior decor. Contact us for more details on our collection of Fornasetti lamps, tables, bar carts, mirrors, umbrella stands and more. Photographed with the table are Robert Venturi post-modern 'Queen Anne' chairs for Knoll International and Hans Hopfer for Roche Bobois Mah Jong's in Missoni fabrics along with a Missoni Home rug...
