About the Item

Exquisite large hand-carved Italian walnut draw-leaf dining tables like this one are few and far between. This one is stunning from its outstanding medium colored finish showcasing the exotic grain of the walnut checker board top down to its strong and sturdy, intricately carved Rococo decorated base. Rococo is a combination of words: rocaille, meaning stone, and coquilles, meaning shell, when these objects are utilized as decoration. Being an unusually large size is very rare amongst this style table, giving this fine specimen in particular, an extra advantage over other tables of this configuration. We sell loads of these tables, partially due to the fact that they are beautiful, well-constructed and effortlessly double in size with their leaves drawn. Perfectly suited many places, these tables are simple enough for a breakfast nook, or a casual eat-in kitchen, though formal enough for lavish dinner parties in the opulent dining room. Italians really knew what they were doing when they designed draw-leaf tables so many centuries ago. If you have never experienced the utmost usefulness of this particular style of table, you're in for a real treat. Using both hands, one person can easily extend or retract each or both leaves by themselve without the help of anyone else.
