A French Napoleon III walnut extension dining table from the late 19th century, with carved and turned legs and later added leaves. Created in France during the last quarter of the 19th century, this Napoleon III walnut dining table features an oval top measuring 125.75" W when fully extended with its four new leaves. The table is resting on a central carved quadripod base typical of the Second Empire era, showcasing legs with exquisite C-scrolls playing with one another. Once extended, the table can rest on four additional turned legs with casters. With its versatile quality and elegant lines, this French Napoleon III walnut table circa 1880 will be a great addition to any dining room or breakfast area!

The design of this series around 1955 as well as "Visiteur du soir" series were likely stemmed from an earlier series "Coin de repos pour L'hiver", presented in artists and decorators' pavilion, international exhibition, Paris, in 1937.
