Gemstone Terrazzo Toped Dinning Table

About the Item

Body double projection table The projection table features a gemstone terrazzo table top made of cementitious terrazzo, with a waterjet-cut lazy suzan in the middle. These pieces rest on top of four bent aluminium chevron shaped plinths that have been powder-coated in a pearlescent white powder. The centre plinths form one cohesive whole accentuated by a strip of laminated glass that runs up the outside centre which is backlit by a LED lighting component. The outer plinths are separated from the centre plinths, incorporating negative space in to the otherwise solid piece. Gemstones included in the terrazzo top are as follows: Amazonite Amethyst Blue Lace Agate Fluorite Labradorite Rhodochrosite Rose Quartz Smoky Quartz Strawberry Quartz Production will be limited to an edition of five. In-floor electrical access is required for lighting component Studio information and background: The projection table is the first piece ever created by body double, a design studio that operates as a collective of designers facilitated by Scott Cummings and Sasha Burchuk of New Age Design studio. Body double is a creative practice rooted in artistic experimentation, collaboration, and community. Instead of being an exclusive partnership between two studios, it is an inclusive exploration of the strengths and ideas of the members of our creative community and an opportunity for us to share each others visions and successes through making furniture and objects together.
