About the Item
The Nora Dining Table is a sculptural, round table, whose volume and presence ground any dining room. The solid legs are topped with a dome, creating an arched silhouette from any angle and provide a tactile point of interest, which highlights the beauty of the wood and hand cut joinery. To enhance this experience, the legs are kept low and away from the table top, allowing their sculptural form to stand out. This table was originally designed to extend, allowing for a leaf to be added in the middle, but it can also be made as a fixed diameter round table.
The table is handmade in Copenhagen using traditional joinery, such as wedged tenons and sliding dovetails, to ensure a robust construction that will last generations. The solid wooden table seats six people comfortably but may be extended to seat up to ten. The expanding mechanism is crafted entirely from solid wood and has been painstakingly planned and constructed to provide smooth operation.
