About the Item
A sparkling forest of legs supports a majestic block of wood with strong, lively outlines. Il Pezzo 8 Table is a collection of colour, shape and materials you can loose yourself in. It is romantic, sinuous and light and at the same time solid, rich and imposing.
The tabletop, with its organic shape, is crafted from 7 cm of thick solid walnut with beautiful nickel-plated brass inlays that add a touch of radiance to the surface.
The choice of the wood grain alignment is done with great care to create flowing veins and colours throughout the top. The top is smoothed and left as natural in order to appreciate the beauty and flow of the wood.
The final treatment is done with natural oil that protects the wood but at the same time lets it breathe and leaves the extraordinary feel of this beautiful natural material unchanged to the touch. Furthermore the final coat on the top is done with Nanotechnology, an organic silica-based natural treatment which makes the wood water repellent. The legs are made of sand casting, following the noblest Tuscan artisan tradition.
Their shape and sheen contrast with the heaviness of the material and its special crafting process showcasing the wisdom of the master foundry workers.
Each table shows the “Missing Piece” (“Pezzo Mancante” in Italian): a small brass cylinder containing a unique serial number, guarantees its authenticity and individuality.
Custom sizes and finishes are also available to suit every preference.

Il Pezzo Mancante ("The Missing Piece" in English) was born in 2010, created by Cosimo Terzani and Barbara Bertocci.
