About the Item
The MEDES design plays with balance to achieve a perfect equilibrium of design in space. Its hollow stone structure simulates perfect lines of diagonal symmetry that offset its balance with a round piece of rusted iron. On the surface an impeccable glass stabilizes the balance making this dining table a unique piece for its avant-garde design by the Spanish artist Joaquín Moll.
The MEDES Dining table is part of the Synthesis Collection that was presented by Meddel, Spanish firm of contemporary design furniture in marble and natural stone, at Fuorisalone MIlán and at Maison et Objet Paris.
The Amarillo Triana natural stone is a marble of Spanish origin, yellow in a matt honed finish. This natural stone has the particularity of having fossil inlays in the form of vegetation with an arrangement of fine straight lines with organic forms of fossil plants. The circular iron has a natural iron oxidation.
MEDES has a very particular design that turns this dining table into a natural stone sculpture. Its shape seems to be floating on the floor and its symmetry makes it a light piece with impeccable aesthetics. Once again Joaquín Moll shows his expertise in design with materials such as natural stone, metal and glass.
