About the Item

Wimbledon-Furniture Wimbledon-Furniture is delighted to offer for sale this hand made airplane wing dining table known as the Mosquito Table designed by Sir Terence Conran and was made exclusively to be retailed through his Conran shop. I’ve never seen another like this before, there a few companies out there making reproduction aviator style furniture but very few producing genuine pieces made from genuine plane parts, this as you can see in the wing, its hand riveted with aluminium, the timber is some kind of hard plywood, naturally hollow for weight saving of course The table is made up of three key pieces, the legs simply slot perfectly into the frame, they are not fixed and can be easily removed for transport The table dates from the early 1990's, the top has loads of patina marks, the base has the odd crack in the timber around the fitting area, otherwise its full of charm and character, this is one of those pieces that every customer that visits the warehouse gravitates to, its such a strong conversation piece, its almost like pure art furniture Dimensions: Height 74cm Width 240cm Depth 100cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses. Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
