Smoked Glass Brass Puzzle Dining Table, Italy, 1970's

About the Item

Transport yourself to the glamour of the 1970s with our captivating dining table(s), This piece a homage to the iconic designs of an Italian designer whose pieces easily sell for 100K+. Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, these tables embody the essence of Italian craftsmanship and luxury. Inspired by the designer's visionary approach, each table in this set is a testament to versatility and elegance. Composed of smoked glass and brass, they exude an air of sophistication and refinement. What sets these tables apart is their unique configuration – a series of four individual pieces that seamlessly come together to create a stunning dining experience. At first glance, the tables appear as standalone masterpieces, perfect for gracing any space as console or accent tables. However, with the simple use of custom brass screws, they transform into a functional dining ensemble. The brilliance lies in their adaptability; the two end tables can be effortlessly pushed together, eliminating the need for the middle rectangular pieces, resulting in a mesmerizing hexagonal shape as well as the rectangular pieces placed together to create a square shaped table with demilune accent tables. Each detail of these dining tables has been thoughtfully considered to ensure both beauty and functionality. Included with the set are the original brass screws, meticulously crafted to keep the tables securely in place when adjusted to your preferred configuration. These screws not only add to the authenticity of the design but also provide peace of mind, allowing you to enjoy your dining experience without any concerns about stability. With these exquisite pieces, every aspect of your dining space exudes timeless elegance and impeccable craftsmanship. Furthermore, the allure of these dining tables extends beyond their design and functionality. The brass frames boast a rich, heavy patina, a testament to years of cherished use and the passage of time. This patina, unique to each table, adds a sense of character and history, infusing the space with warmth and authenticity. It's a tangible reminder of the stories shared and memories made around these tables, making them not just pieces of furniture, but cherished heirlooms to be passed down through generations. While not one of those designer's original creations, these tables bear the hallmark of Italian excellence, proudly marked 'Made in Italy'. These vintage treasures from the 1970s evoke the same aura of luxury and sophistication at a fraction of the cost. Indeed, reminiscent of the revered Puzzle dining table, which commands a staggering price tag, our offering allows you to indulge in timeless elegance without compromise. This dining table would look incredible with some elegant Mastercraft brass dining chairs, or perhaps Milo Baughman thinline or Pierre Cardin for more of a Hollywood regency look. This dining table would also look incredible with Romeo Rega and Maison Jansen. This gorgeous dining table would look incredible in any mid century modern, contemporary, regency or even more traditional home or space.

  • Postmodern Industrial Dining Table Designed by Robert Josten
    By Robert Josten
    Located in Culver City, CA
This dining table is equal parts post modern and industrial modern and just oozes California modernism. This dining table or writing desk was designed by Robert Josten in the 1970's. Made of aluminum, this metal grille / grid style is a staple of Robert Josten's work. This dining table is a great transitional piece that could easily flex into any contemporary environment. The table has an almost Allsaints, industrial modern feel with a slight steampunk vibe as well. The table could also be used in an ultra modern environment and would look great in a new modern designed home. This piece could also be used as a retail display table...

  • Karl Springer Goatskin Dining Table With Custom Chrome Drum Base
    By Karl Springer
    Located in Culver City, CA
This dining table is simply stunning. A goatskin dining table designed by Karl Springer from the 1980s features a creamy goatskin top with hides that are both tan and nude in color with slight color variations in the hides that only come with real goatskin pieces. This large goatskin top rests on a circular chrome drum base that is a custom base for the table. This stunning table came out of a prominent home in Century City and the provenance is available upon request. The dining table top still has the original Karl Springer paper label which was included in the original wrapping of the piece / order tag, which has been affixed to the bottom by the original owner for provenance. This wrapping tag has significantly faded with time, but you can still make out the name Karl Springer at the top (especially if you snap a photo and bump up the contrast). This dining table, as photographed, looks incredible with the Guido Faleschini for Pace Collection dining chairs -- which is the exact combination the family had been using since the 1980's. With the striking chrome base, this dining table would look great with Milo Baughman thinline...

  • Brutalist Cast Metal Geometric Dining Table in the Manner of Paul Evans
    By Paul Evans
    Located in Culver City, CA
This table is absolutely gorgeous. It's a cast metal body with what a cold cast bronze outer shell. This one of a kind, custom piece came out of an estate in the Pacific Palisades filled with the most incredible furniture by Paul Evans, Daniel Gluck and Italian designer pieces. Unfortunately we have been unable to identify the creator of this piece, but it is very much in the style of Paul Evans and his cold cast bronze line for Directional. The table base measures 56" L x 24" D x 28.25" T. The glass on the table base is also custom, 3/4" thick with docked corners for a very unique look when up close and personal. This table is remarkably sturdy, and very heavy. This unique table would also look incredible as a writing desk. This incredible table is currently in the gallery paired with like designer pieces by Paul Evans, and Silas Seandel, but would also look wonderful paired with more contemporary pieces like Milo Baughman thin line chairs...
