About the Item

Danish modern X-Line desk or dining table by Niels Jørgen Haugesen for Hybodan, made and designed in Denmark in 1977. Geometric Scandinavian Modern wire frame dining table or desk. This Danish table is made of a metal frame with a glass top and a orange metal perforated plate under the top. Table is from the X-line series by Danish designer Niels Jørgen Haugesen. Beautiful dining table which is a good example of late midcentury design "high-tech movement", when more traditional materials like teak and rosewood were replaced by other materials like metal. We think this dining table could also be used as a beautiful minimalistic desk. The table is big enough to place your laptop or computer on and the metal plate under the glass top could be perfectly used to store paperwork or other items. Table or desk is in good condition with some traces of use to orange paint. This table is quite a rare item. We have never seen one before. The orange table plate remind us a bit of the perforated designs by Mathieu Matégot for Artimeta. Niels Jørgen Haugesen was a Danish designer that used the high-tech movement to create modern furniture with well thought functionality and a good knowledge of materials. In his collaborations with Danish furniture producer Frederica, which also worked with top designers like Borge Mogensen, Hans Wegner and Nanna Ditzel, he designed his award winning Haugesen dining table and coffee table. Other works of him are his "Distance" sofa and lounge chair and "String" and "X-line" dining or side chair.
