This is an antique bookbinder's press table. An English, mahogany and brass drop-flap occasional table, dating to the Victorian period, circa 1880. Delightfully petite, with superb quality and appealing form Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks show fine grain interest and rich russet hues Drawer boxes crafted from beech, with light biscuit hues and dovetail joints Flying arm rest recessed within the frame extend to support the drop-flap top Fully extended, the table width reaches 118cm (46.5") Pair of useful drawers dressed with brass cup handles, the top drawer with an inset lock — key absent Raised upon a quartet of gently splayed legs This is a charming antique bookbinder's press table, with the extending drop-flap form offering versatility throughout the home.
