About the Item
A handsome and very well made Antique Tavern Table with unusual and very decorative form. A round drop leaf table with interesting heavy carved block stretchers with turned gate legs. Ending in scrolled paw feet.
Lovely rich tone to the oak and a good practical size
H. 27 3/4", W. 12 1/2" W. each leaf 14 1/2"
Opens fully to 41 1/2" L
Condition: Please see detail photos. There is some age-related wear including a stable age crack across the top, some old expected gouges and a few stable age cracks to the feet which do not detract from the authentic Tavern presentation.

A very fine and complex well-crafted drop leaf table with rectangular top inlaid overall in fine scrolled marquetry details. The top panel with scrolling vines emanating from two vessels, framed by a scrolling vine wide band. Each rounded leaf with coordinating center panels and bands. The two frieze drawers with foliate scrolls framing the brass key holes (one lock is missing). Raised on a octagonal faceted baluster support ending in eight square scrolled legs with flat feet, all with coordinating foliate scrolled decoration.
