Pennsylvania Gate-Leg Drop-Leaf Sheraton Dining Table in Cherry Wood, circa 1830

About the Item

An exceptional American Sheraton dining table from southeastern Pennsylvania, made of fine solid cherry that has fine figuring & is a light amber color. When open, the long drop-leaves are supported by gate legs with turned cylindrical legs, with incised rings at the top, & that end in an acorn foot. Leaves have the original iron hinges. The stream-lined design of this well-designed & crafted dining table works well in a contemporary as well as a traditional setting. Southeastern Pennsylvania, circa 1830. Makes a great auxiliary dining table in a small apartment placed behind a sofa or against a wall under a large-screen television or painting. Note: You should always request a shipping quote.     Refinished. Wear consistent with age and use. Features an exceptional Pennsylvania wild cherry as the main wood, with poplar and maple pieces used in the frame. Table was restored & polished in our workshop and is structurally sound.
