Guildmaster Neoclassical Style Carved Giltwood Compass Rose Table

About the Item

Straight from the home of the late legendary American business magnate, T. Boone Pickens, we present a contemporary hand carved distressed painted white side table by Guildmaster. Styled after luxurious antique neoclassical furniture, the exceptionally executed table having a unique square serpentine shaped top with molded edge, elaborate polychrome decoration including fanciful scrollwork, central compass rose (windrose - nautical star) medallion, fleur-de-lis motif, rich gold gilt accents, above shaped apron adorned with ornate giltwood carvings, rising on four tapered square legs, joined by shaped X form cross-stretcher, terminating on carved and gilded acanthus leaf adorned feet. Dimensions: (approx) 28" High, 24.5" Wide, 24.5" Deep Provenance: Acquired from the Dallas, TX estate of T. Boone Pickens (b.1928 -2019). An American business magnate, billionaire, financier and philanthropist. J. Garrett Auctioneers had the pleasure of presenting this item from the iconic Texas and Oklahoma oil tycoon, T. Boone Pickens' Dallas home. The breadth of T. Boone Pickens' career is impressive. He built one of the largest independent natural gas oil companies in the United States and flourished as an entrepreneur thereafter, generating hundreds of billions of dollars in the process. Among his lengthy accolades, Time magazine has identified him one of its "100 Most Influential People", Financial World named him "CEO of the Decade" in 1989, and Oil and Gas Investor identified him as one of the "100 Most Influential People of the Petroleum century.".
