This Moroccan Moorish-style drinks table hails from the mid-20th century. It boasts an octagonal shaped top, an octagonal base, intricate polychrome decoration, and finely hand painted Moorish details. Crafted by hand in Morocco, this large side table immediately captures attention with its graceful silhouette and exquisite hand-painted ornamentation. The table's top features a captivating octagonal design adorned with geometric patterns, encircled by a meandering line of stylized leaves, showcasing vibrant hues of dark red, jade green and beige.
The Moroccan Moorish Bohemian style is renowned for its lavish embellishments, embracing every available space with its charming polychromatic motifs and expertly carved structure. This Moroccan Moorish-style table, dating back to around 1950, makes for a splendid choice as a drinks table, whether it graces a living room or finds a cozy spot under a sheltered patio. Notably, Yves Saint Laurent, the renowned French designer, was among the pioneers in the 1960s who acquired a residence in Marrakech, along with Pierre Bergé. They integrated local, handcrafted exotic furniture into their celebrated compound known as Majorelle, later renamed Villa Oasis. This iconic estate was designed by the esteemed American interior designer Bill Willis, who spent his entire life in Marrakech.
