Pair Marbleized and Gilt Carved Wood Pedestals
About the Item
This pair of French pedestals exhibit a large and highly decorative three dimensional carved wood application of rams heads, garlanded laurel and berries and rams feet all gilded. This applied to the faux marbled surface creates a dramatic old world appeal. Pedestals similar in design were popular in the eighteenth century and then again in the later part of the nineteenth century.
