19th Century French Louis XVI Gilt Center Table with Marble Top

About the Item

A very decorative Louis XVI-style Napoleon III center or side table in carved and gilded wood, and featuring an oval grey-green veined marble top. This pretty little table dates from the 19th century, and boasts abundant and exquisite carvings in the form of laurel wreaths around its belt, with rectangular, acanthus-leaf paterae at the crest of each leg. The legs themselves are tapered and fluted, and terminate in toupie feet joined by an ornate and shaped cross stretcher. Please note that although the table is in good overall condition, there is some minor cracking to the marble top.
