"Battista Folding" Table by Romeo Sozzi/ Promemoria with Cherry Wood Surface

About the Item

"Battista folding" table by Romeo Sozzi/ Promemoria with cherry wood surface from 1990 ties. The Battista folding table is an iconic Promemoria product. Battista was created in 1978, before Promemoria was founded. It is the first piece of furniture designed by Romeo Sozzi in his workshop. The first versions of the table have since become priceless collectibles and there have been numerous changes in finish and design over the years Battista is a foldable side table in matt black wood or leather with a two-part table top. The table is particularly easy to handle thanks to an ingenious mechanism. "Battista" is small, always there when you need it and extremely practical. But he can also suddenly disappear and offers an amusing spectacle Promemoria is rooted in a long tradition and yet it is constantly evolving. When he founded his company in 1988, Romeo Sozzi chose the name "Promemoria", a declaration of love for the ability to preserve the handmade, the extraordinary, the special. Remembering the past to improve the future. This is the true mission of the company, which draws on its rich heritage to create the beauty of tomorrow. Promemoria is inextricably linked to the Lake Como region and often creates bespoke and limited edition products that are also highly regarded internationally. Promemoria's roots go back a long way. The history of the company began in the nineteenth century in a small town on Lake Como. This is where the Sozzi family ran their workshop for maintaining and repairing the carriages of the local nobility. An activity that was only entrusted to experts and the best of the craftsmen's guild. Here, in the scent of woods and stains, four generations of craftsmanship took shape that would become Promemoria in the late 1980s.
