About the Item
sebastián arroyo hoebens is a designer who was born in Mexico City and grew up in between Mexico and the Netherlands. He currently lives and works in New York City, influenced by his personal experiences, physical surroundings, Mexican and Dutch cultures and how this bicultural tillage has yielded his peculiar artistic perception and his way of living and shaping his world.
The dichotomy between sculpture and functionality is a recurring element in his work, as also an obsessive preference for craft, sustainability combined with the use of digital technologies in design, and fabrication.
Founded in 2014 by Montserrat Castañón, Ángulo Cero was born as a space to think about design from an artistic perspective. Its curatorial approach inclines towards the experimentation of materials and formal languages, commissioning collections for a sophisticated market inside and outside of Mexico.
