About the Item

AEGIS 001-L table is made to order using stainless steel, brass plates, marble and gold steel wire. A modern contemporary design using only the finest materials and manufacturing methods. Every element is sourced in Italy and is assembled and finished by hand by a family of metal artisans near the Amalfi coast; including the sanding down of any welding marks and the arduous threading of the steel wire. Available in three sizes or as two or three nesting tables. Complex processes have been developed in collaboration with the local university to achieve specialised metal finishes that evolve with time, adding character individual to every piece. Designed by Ziad Alonaizy, AEGIS 001 is a concept driven eclectic design. The golden wires are reminiscent of a bird cage being pried open by hand. Previously an orthopaedic surgeon, Ziad Alonaizy acquired distinction from the prestigious Inchbald School of design in London before starting his new career in architectural interior design. AEGIS is his first line of furniture. As AEGIS 001 is made to order, you may customise the frame finish and choice of marble within reason. There may be an additional cost. We include some images of material combinations we like above. Also, you can choose to have three nesting tables, the two bigger nesting tables or the two smaller nesting tables. AEGIS 001 has been featured in publications such as wallpaper magazine and Elle Decoration. The AEGIS collection of furniture is manufactured with love and pride.
