About the Item

Late 19th century/early 20th century English aesthetic movement bamboo plant stand, display shelf, or side table crafted from bamboo. The table features a bent bamboo frame with three legs ending with two finials and a natural handle on the top and splayed legs on the bottom. The frame has two wooden square shelves or tiers with a galleried edge. The shelves are lacquered or Japanned and decorated with Asian chinoiserie revival style motifs having a desirable aged patina on the finish. The delicate design has beautiful craftsmanship and good joinery with a handsome profile. From an estate in San Francisco, CA. Could also serve as a stylish drinks table.
