Maija Heikinheimo (1908 – 1963) was a Finnish designer and interior decorator, who began her career at Asko, one of Finland's largest furniture manufacturers, in 1932. Serving as its inaugural in-house designer, she played a pivotal role in the development of wooden functionalism, creating distinctive furniture pieces, including the iconic "Apu 604" side table.
In 1935, Heikinheimo embarked on a new chapter, joining Artek as the close working partner of Aino Aalto. After Aino's passing in 1949, Heikinheimo assumed the role of Artek’s managing director until 1955.
