Flemish 17th Century carved oak table

About the Item

Flemish 17th century carved oak table circa 1690. We are pleased to offer this 17th century table which was often called a rent table. Over-sailing solid oak top which has now been restored with a piece let in and areas of colour matched fill.  Top secured to base with pegs.  Single drawer to the front with working lock and key.  Raised on 4 hand carved legs, supported by a near floor level stretcher. When cleaning this piece back we found the original colour to the painted base.  Evidence of metal support restoration to the side of the top which must be 200 years old itself. Ideal for use in a period home in multiple rooms around the home, would also work well as a one off piece in a modern interior. Expected surface marks and shrinkage for a table over 300 years old.  Restoration to top surface to old historical age splits.  Evidence of dead inactive/treated worm to feet. Strong and sturdy, ready for everyday use.
