About the Item

A beautiful French 19th century Louis XV st. Tulipwood, Kingwood and Ormolu side table, signed Krieger, Paris. This wonderful piece is raised on four square tapered slender legs with wrap around Ormolu sabots. The outer edge of each leg has a mottled Ormolu filet that extends up past the Ormolu foliate mount at the top of each leg and connects to the arbalest shaped apron. All four aprons have the same Ormolu edge and also contain an acanthus leaf spray central reserve. The panels above each apron are decorated with beautiful Tulipwood and Kingwood butterfly veneers. The stunning top is tastefully decorated with a Kingwood and Tulipwood veneer design of a sunburst pattern which showcases the mastery of Krieger. This exceptional top is surrounded by a mottled edged Ormolu gallery which isolates the difference of the designs between the top and the body of the table.
