Goosegūß Side Table by Jordan Mozer for East, circa 2004

This GOOSEGUß TABLE ("goose-goose") is a 2018 variation of a table created in 2004 for the conversion of a dilapidated foundry in Hamburg Germany into East Hotel and restaurant. The table was made in Chicago from cast aluminum and walnut. It is 19" long x 12" wide x 24.5" tall (48 cm long x 31.5 cm wide x 61 cm tall). It is signed. The table was made in Chicago. The form of the table was hand carved in maple. It was then cast in 93% recycled magnesium-aluminum alloy. The form was burnished and hand rubbed to patina. The top is composed of solid Wisconsin Black Walnut. The GooseGuß ("goose-goose") table was designed and manufactured by the artist for East in Hamburg, Germany, a boutique hotel and restaurant created from the ruins of an old iron foundry. East is populated with elements inspired by foundry imagery and techniques to evoke the spirit of the old foundry, and also the surreal vertigo of a Westerner in Asia for the first time. "GOOSEGUß" While working on the hotel the artist lived in the Gänsemarkt, the old Goose Market. This suggested the gooseneck form of the table... “Guss Metal” in German translates to “cast metal”. This cast, goose-neck table was created by hand carving maple and casting the form in metal. . These photos were made by John Stewart Clark.

Additional Options
