A gorgeous Edwardian inlaid side or writing table, finely carved and of fabulous quality with richly patinated timbers comprising of mahogany and fruitwood. The moulded cross banded, quarter veneered top of rectangular form with a lovely inlaid oval pattern to the central reserve, raised over pull out slide section revealing a writing skiver surface fitted with gorgeous green embossed tooled leather. Raised over moulded frieze with single centred cockbeaded, line inlaid drawer with turned pulls, brass escutcheon and key. Supported on elegantly, tapering square leg, terminating on spade foot, labelled 'Hampton & Sons LTD. Pall Mall East, London.’ Hampton & Sons Hampton & Sons were one of the most prestigious British cabinet makers of the 19th and 20th Century, creating very fine and highly sought after antique furniture renowned for it's fine quality craftsmanship.
