Impronta Terracota Large by Peca

About the Item

These unique side tables can only be described as a fusion of art, functional design and tradition connecting a space to day-to-day life. Each cylindrical table rises to reach a different height; one bears two decorative fins while the other table has four fins. As a request from Caterina Moretti, designer Andrew Carvolth took in this exploration of his work through Mexican artisanship. Using traditional Guadalajara clay with Taller de locos and repurposed fused glass, resulted in a rich, exquisite outcome: the image of a window to look through and contemplate the fusion of form, color and matter. These containers give an interesting twist to their purpose, becoming pedestals for tables rising to two different heights. A fruitful exploration that developed in Guadalajara's Taller de locos pottery workshop. The highest pedestal grows four fins along its length impressing it with force; the lowest pedestal bears two fins rising with elegance and uniqueness. The top accent is crafted in fused glass patterned with tiny bubbles as a simile of a window portraying the history and tradition of these creations. Design Andrew Carvolth Technical data Material Clay & Fused Glass Measurements: 42 cm x 42 cm x 55 cm.
