About the Item

A striking Italian 19th century ebony, ivory, and ormolu center/side table. The one drawer rectangular table is raised by four elegant turned tapered legs with charming topie shaped feet and each connected by a beautiful scalloped shaped stretcher centered by a superb ormolu foliate finial. The straight apron displays one drawer decorated with wonderful interlocking geometric fillets and finely detailed scrolled foliate designs flanked by diamond shaped reserves repeated at the sides and back. The top displays an exceptional intricately detailed plaque of a man courting a woman seated outside centered by a wonderful array of inlaid fillets in a most decorative geometric pattern with scrolled foliate designs at the corners and a lovely mottled border.
