Lara Round Side Table with Cylindrical Legs, Spalted Beech, by Mythology
About the Item
Handcrafted from solid spalted beech, the Lara Side Table has a simple yet assertive form. Contemporary lines are juxtaposed with the organic grain patterns on the wood’s surface, formed by fungi penetrating the tree as it grew.
Utilising traditional joinery, cylindrical hand-turned legs are joined to the tabletop with crossed wedged tenons.
The timber is sourced locally, giving new life to trees felled as a result of urban development or natural causes.
Please note, natural variations in the timber will occur from piece to piece. We believe this adds to the character and beauty of each work.
One tree is planted for every piece of furniture sold by Mythology.
