Midcentury Art Glass Black Shellac and Brass Italian Side Tables, 1950
About the Item
Wonderful of side tables in the Italian style of Fontana Arte; valuable choice of materials, a unique design. Glass with sandblasted design in the style of Gio Ponti.
Lovely round side tables all in beech wood polished with black shellac. The top is composed of a frame, in which an engraved glass is inserted. While the band of the table in addition to being polished with black shellac, is edged with a thin brass sheet; this is then nailed with small brass nails. The glass depicts a nude female figure singing and dancing before a figure of a youth seated on a bench, seemingly lost in his melody. The legs are four, very tapered and elegant.
Very important piece carefully restored by our atelier in Rome. This item has no defects, but it may show slight traces of use. For each piece, before the departure, a revision is redone, to make sure it arrives in excellent condition.
