About the Item
Made of solid American hardwoods, the Pilar Coffee, Occasional and End Tables provide both functionality and character in spaces such as a living room or hotel/office lobbies.
With the ability to work in clusters or by themselves, they serve a wide range of demands, from accent to statement pieces. Apart from the standard colors, they can be made in a range of customized colors to stay in line with a brand identity and stone tops for high traffic zones.
Inspired by our travels to Barcelona, the intense, bold use of color by Gaudi in his architectural mosaics alongside the rich, earthy glazes of Catalan ceramics, we aim to create the same feeling of warmth and wonder through the pieces in the Pilar Collection. From afar, the layered hues mimic a mosaic, with each tile of color representing a piece of the complete picture.
Recontextualizing the process of dipping and layering glazes on ceramics alongside the tactility of its fluted wooden surface, the Pilar Collection invites you to come closer, discovering moments of color and intensity particular to each flute as they create a constant dialogue of light and shadow. The Pilar Collection is a nod to simple, functional, contemporary design with a beauty inherent in the handmade.

INDO-
INDO- is an award winning interdisciplinary design studio based in Providence, RI. Founded in 2018 by Urvi Sharma and Manan Narang - both grew up in New Delhi and met at the Rhode Island School of Design - INDO- is a product of experiencing both places and cultures. Using a layered design process, incorporating personal narrative, traditional craft and modern ways of making into the work, INDO- creates products that connect with their audience in an increasingly diasporic world while embodying unique identities with the stories they tell. The studio aims to share the rich cultural and historical identities its founders bring with them as Indian designers to the continuously evolving landscape of American design. Our products are made to order in our RI studio - alongside a network of trusted local and regional vendors - and can be customized in size, material and finish to suit a wide range of projects. Our clients include top-tier interior design and architecture firms such as NICOLEHOLLIS, RIOS, Chango & Co, Studio DB and Shawn Henderson Interior Design working on residential and commercial projects worldwide. INDO- has been featured in multiple publications including The New York Times, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Interior Design Magazine, and Dwell. Our work has also received numerous awards and recognitions including the Dwell 24, NYCxDesign Emerging Product Designer and Female Design Council + NICOLEHOLLIS Grant Honoree.
