Rare George IV circa 1820 Hardwood Tripod Side End Timeless Design after Gillows
About the Item
We are delighted to offer for sale this sublime George IV circa 1820 Burr mahogany tripod table after Gillows of Lancaster and London
A glorious side table, a timeless design, the lines of this piece are so elegant
The base has metal strap supports, I'm not sure if they are original or a later addition for stability, they look of the period. There has been a repair to the top where a piece of antique timber has been spliced in place, a very difficult repair which has been executed with some skill which shows how highly coveted this piece was
Other than the above there will be normal age related patina marks from honest age and genuine use, nothing you wouldn't expect from a 200 year old table

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
