Rodolfo Bonetto '4/4' Serpentine Table 1969 for B-Line

About the Item

Rodolfo Bonetto '4/4' Serpentine Table for B-Line. Designed in 1969. New, current production. From the drawing board of Rodolfo Bonetto in 1969, 4/4 represents the typical multi-functional product that can easily adapt to setting and use, in this way allowing continually new interpretations of the spaces in which we live. Curving lines, glossy plastic and easy dovetailing turn the four elements making it up into a round coffee table, a serpentine table, a modular bookcase or even a corner shelving. Made in injection-moulded ABS plastic, 4/4 is a clever solution for the home, study or waiting rooms. For lovers of this kind of genre, it appears with Sean Connery in the 007 film “Diamonds are Forever”. Please note: to make the serpentine table, this is a combination of two '4/4' tables. On the first image there are 6 elements used, but two sets will make you a serpentine table consisting out of 8 elements. The price of this listing is for a combination of two 4/4 table sets. About Rodolfo Bonetto Born in Milan in 1929, Rodolfo Bonetto abandoned a successful career as a jazz drummer to devote himself to the profession of designer. He started up his own business in 1958 and in the years that followed worked in a large number of industrial fields ranging from the designing of tooling machines to clocks, lamps, ski boots, surgical lasers and motorcars. Being self-taught, he was so keenly oriented towards design praxis as to provide an important contribution to the teaching of industrial design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Ulm and later on at Isia in Rome. He was awarded eight gold compasses, the last of which was for his own professional career. He died in Milan in 1991.

    Located in Cathedral City, CA
Rare brass plated and lucite pair of side tables or can be used as coffee table 2019 Charles Hollis Jones (Second set ever made by CHJ) Provenance private collection of CHJ The Connexion double square end table is part of the Connexion line. About the Connexion Line The Connexion Line was created out of a relationship Charles originally had with a girl. When things didn’t work out he began drawing pictures of things he wanted to gift her, they never really in the end connected with her but ultimately became very connected with his work. The philosophy behind this line is to create things that go together and connect in life, especially in furniture so people wouldn’t have to buy multiple pieces with no relationship. The Connexion line is also sensitive to collectors who want to buy furniture — they could easily own a collection of work, as most of the line ranges between 2-6 pieces. Charles thinks of this line very much so as art, and saw an opportunity to improve on the relationships of many pieces of furniture in one room. Additionally, Charles’ focus was to showcase that one could own multipurpose furniture...
