Old Japanese wooden low table/simple design/coffee table

About the Item

This is an old Japanese wooden low table. I think it is from the Taisho to Showa eras. The material is Zelkova wood. Zelkova wood has long been used as a wood for Japanese architecture and furniture, and is a traditional wood used for shrines, family crests, pillars, etc. Its characteristics are its hardness and beautiful, clear grain. It is very heavy, so this table weighs about 40 kg. The tabletop is made of two pieces of wood, but the technique of joining them is so impressive that it looks like a single piece of wood. This table seems to have originally been used as a workbench. There are traces of use, and there is a faint trace of an L-shaped metal fitting in the center. There is almost no twisting in the wood, and it is old, but I think it is in good condition. Please enjoy the warmth of wood unique to solid wood and the weight and charm of Zelkova wood. It is difficult to find a table this thick, so try placing it in your room. Weight: 40.45kg Size: W124cm D64.5-66cm H16.7cm [We, Brood, are a company consisting of four different stores with four different brands. We offer a wide range of attractive items from all over the world with a focus on Japanese items. We offer Japanese antique furniture and tools that are different from the Japanese antique furniture and art that have been appreciated abroad. These tools were used in private homes and farmhouses in the past. They have been passed through a long time and have an attractive taste. The reality is that many of these items are now being discarded along with the demolition of houses. We are on a mission to re-evaluate these fascinating old objects and preserve them for future generations. And we have seen tens of thousands of items so far. We have used that experience to list the most fascinating items here. We can do this because of our long experience. We will rediscover the "beauty" produced in the life and culture of the common people, which is different from the Japanese art and culture that is known and scattered around the world, and present it to the world. ]
