19th century French Breton Carved Oak sofa table writing desk Louis XIV. Direct from France, a highly carved, excellent quality antique oak sofa table or writing desk with outstanding carvings throughout! The stunning apron has carved scaling on all sides with open carved scrolls below and center drop finials. Note the eight carved masks, one on each corner and side, just so much attention to detail here. All four legs are opulently carved, with carved block joints and toupie feet. Quality throughout, with matching carved stretcher and cross stretchers. Full length carved front drawer with button pull. Table is carved and trimmed on all sides, therefore perfect to “float” in any room, as there is no backside. Excellent craftsmanship, circa1890. Measurements: 31.25” ht. x 35.5” x 23.75”.
